Help us fundraise for our partners at Pain Concern.
Our very own Professor Cormac Ryan is taking on the London Marathon this April: in his bid to fundraise at least £2,000 he has released his first single: ‘Your Back Is Strong’, a parody of the Elton John classic.
Learning more about how pain works has been proven to change the way people see and treat persistent pain: it can reduce the fear around it and can even change how pain feels.
This is why Flippin’ Pain shares the latest science of pain in a range of unique, engaging and accessible ways: now including song!
The new lyrics promote learning more about how pain works and how this can improve the situation of anyone with persistent pain: whether it’s a ‘bad back’, arthritis, fibromyalgia or any other long-term pain.
As Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation at Teesside University and a Flippin’ Pain Community Pain Champion, Cormac has helped thousands of people understand pain science. Now he’s taking to the microphone to raise awareness further and hopefully raise some money in the process.
Cormac said: “For those of you who aren’t familiar with Pain Concern, they are a charity that have been in existence since 1995 and they aim to “work to improve the lives of people living with pain and those who care for them”. Running a charity is a challenging business with ever increasing costs. So, I’m absolutely delighted to be able to help Pain Concern to raise much needed funds so that they can keep on keeping on!
“This is where you come in. Over the coming weeks and months, I will be asking for donations for my marathon endeavours. I appreciate that times are very hard at the moment and few people have a great deal of spare cash hanging around. However, should you be in a position to do so, a donation would be very welcome. Of course, if you are not able to afford a donation, don’t worry: a thumbs up on my fund-raising page will be very much appreciated also!”
